| Box Office Hit: For the First Time Posted by chelism at 05:38 AM . |

It is rare for me to go to cinemas unless it is a Harry Potter film, especially if it is a mushy Filipino movie that has a predictable ending. It's surprising how people reacted to KC Concepcion and Richard Gutierrez' team up. It's the talk of town. Everybody's singing "for the first time... I've been looking in your eyes". Some gave negative responses, but most of them handed a two-thumbs up to the chemistry between those two. I was at the mall yesterday with boyfriend, and I opted to spend my 200 Sodexho SM gift certificate to watch this movie. Boyfriend tagged along with me because he had no choice.
What I noticed about this movie is that it has awkward cutting of scenes, moving to one scene to the other. It made me think they rushed the film off because the editing was not that good, which I believe nobody would notice unless you're a film critic. (I'm not, just a keen observer!) As everyone says, the two had a different chemistry, in tagalog bagay na bagay sila. Both were products of showbiz royalty, and the characters they portrayed in the movie is somewhat similar to what they are in real life: rich, elegant, famous and smart. Considering it was KC Concepcion's first movie, she did great but has lot more things to learn. Richard on the other hand was a talent. It was a given fact since we've seen him in different soaps and movies. As I mentioned, Fililpino mushy flicks have a predictable ending and this one wasn't an exception at all. Boy courted girl; Girl hated boy; Girl forgives boy; father forgives his daughter; father accepted boy for his daughter; and girl and boy lived happily ever after. Simple as that. This movie has a little of everything. Light love story, simple family problems, little drama, moderate kissing scenes and slight comedy. Santorini, Greece provided a superb backdrop for this movie, leaving viewers dropped their jaws on the beach and sunset views. But all in all, it sure was a box office hit. I didn't agree MTRCB rating it as "B", while A Very Special Love of John Lloyd and Sarah Geronimo received an "A". Oh, well. For me, a good movie leaves a mark which is something you will never
forget. Things like, "naka-relate ako ng sobra" or "ang ganda ng
story!". What this movie had left in me was a last-song-syndrome for the entire day. I can't stop singing it over and over again! Watch it if you don't want to be left behind the talk of town. I swear, your 200 pesos will be worth it. |

My special treat for this blog is a very first video blog. Surprisingly, even I cannot believe, how my Nokia N93i's video can be compared to a real videocam. The space it gobbled up in my 1gb memory card was a pain, but it's worth it. The result = I have to upload it somewhere in the worldwide web so I can delete it in my phone (there goes youtube, thankyou). The eyebags, bad hair, and such looks on my face should be disregarded because obviously, this was taken after my graveyard shift so I'm kinda stressed and tired (I know, I know, should get more sleep!

| Rants.. and a Newspaper? Posted by chelism at 04:02 AM . |

Hey all! The laziness to update this blog gets severe as months passes by! It's June, yo and it's feeling kind of weird, me not hitting National Bookstore to buy some school stuff goodies. I graduated just 6 months ago and I am not over yet with the idea that "I want to go back studying again because it's so damn hard to work for your own money". I envy those who are in their uniforms carrying books and group studying with their laptops on in a nearby coffee shop. Ok, I'll stop my ranting there. Work is fine, pay is good, weather sucks and I got sick. My last week was a mess, because of a *singhot* colds I got from the changing weather of my lovely tropical country. Good thing Vicks inhaler and Kleenex was invented. I'm feeling much better now, thankyouverymuch. Anyhoo boohoo, one Monday morning on my way home in Buendia MRT station, a man with a big camera hanging on his neck asked me and my friend, "Miss, pwede po ba kayong gawing model, kunwari nagbabasa kayo ng diyaryo namin, para lang po sa anniversary ng Express." The uto-uto that I am said, "sige, teka, paano ba?". Then the man grabbed his camera and shoot me and my friend acting like reading their newspaper. Luckily, it turned out good: (not so clear, because it was not a scanned image, i took it using my phone's cam)
![]() That's me on the left! ![]() I forgot to say thank you to the photographer, though. This was my first time to see my face published in a nationwide daily. And I'm so happy! |

| Pagkakamali Posted by chelism at 11:15 AM . |

Masayang alalahanin ang pag-uusap tulad nito: "She's one of my biggest mistakes..." "If you are, then I'm glad I made you one" Minsan, masarap magkamali kahit alam mong mali talaga ang lahat kahit saan mo ito tignan, tapos naging masaya ka sa ginawa mong pagkakamali. |
